Graber dealers order online through Graber's dealer site, dealer.graberblinds.com, which Graber calls GraberDirect. You price each window from Graber's list prices times your account's price factor, check the size against that product's limits for the lift and fabric you picked, then build the order product by product in Graber's configure form and check out from the cart. The work that causes remakes and repricing happens before the portal: a quote whose options don't match the order form, or a size Graber can't make. This post explains how Graber's price books, size limits and order forms fit together, from public sources and from building Graber quoting into HeadRail. It doesn't include any dealer prices or account details.
Graber in one paragraph
Graber is a brand of Springs Window Fashions, as the footer of its dealer site says. Its For Dealers page dates the brand to 1939 and lists what dealers get: a display program and online tools at dealer.graberblinds.com, sales toolkits including the Visualizer, online ordering with order status tracking, and limited lifetime warranties on most products. To open an account, start at Become a Graber Dealer; Graber's contact page lists a separate line and email for dealer inquiries.
Price books: list price, your factor, your markup
Graber's price lists are list prices. Your cost comes from your account's price factor, a share of list that Graber sets for your account and applies across its products. Your selling price is your cost times the markup you choose.
Here is an example with made-up numbers, not Graber prices:
| Step | Example |
|---|---|
| List price for the size and options | $1,000 |
| Your price factor | 0.30 |
| Your cost | $1,000 x 0.30 = $300 |
| Your markup | 2.2 |
| Selling price | $300 x 2.2 = $660 |
Three things make Graber pricing harder than that table:
- Price groups follow the fabric or color. The same cellular shade at the same size can sit in different price groups depending on the fabric, so the color has to be picked before the price is right.
- Upcharges depend on what was chosen. Lift systems, motors and their power sources, valances, liners, edge banding and specialty shapes each carry their own charge, and some charges change with width or height bands rather than being a flat amount.
- Some items price differently. Accessories like motor remotes are priced per item, not per window, and some wide fabrics bill from a minimum size, so a small window can cost more than the grid suggests.
If you quote from paper, the usual mistake is pricing the base grid and forgetting an upcharge the order form will ask for. If you quote from software, check that every option on Graber's order form has a price behind it, and that a missing price shows up as a question for the office, never as $0.
Size limits change by product, lift and fabric
Every Graber product has minimum and maximum sizes, and they aren't one pair of numbers per product. Limits can change with the lift (cordless versus a continuous cord loop or a motor), with the fabric, and with how many shades share one headrail. Some tables cap the height by the width, so a shade that's fine at 60 inches wide can be too tall at 90.
Graber's dealer price lists hold those tables. For a public example of how such limits read, Springs Window Fashions' contract line publishes its Traditions Wood Blinds page, a commercial product it describes as modeled after comparable Graber blinds. For the cordless lift it lists:
| Limit | Cordless |
|---|---|
| Minimum width | 12" |
| Maximum width | 84" single blind; 120" multiple blinds on one headrail |
| Minimum height | 10" |
| Maximum height | 86" |
Those are the contract product's published numbers, not Graber residential limits. Use your own Graber price lists for the products you sell. The point is the shape: a window that's too wide for one cordless blind may still be orderable as two blinds on one headrail, and the limit depends on the lift.
Some options also become required or unavailable at certain sizes, or with certain fabrics or colors. The order form enforces these, so a quote that ignores them comes back as an alert in the portal.
when a rep measures a window near a limit, decide the fix in the house (split it into two shades, change the lift, change the product) and put that on the proposal. Finding out at order time means calling the customer back.
The Graber Direct order form
Ordering happens on Graber's dealer site, one product line at a time. What we've seen while walking every Graber product form with a dealer's sign-in:
- Each product has its own configure page. You pick the product, then work down its rows: size, mount, color, lift, options. The rows, their order and the wording of each choice are Graber's, and they differ by product.
- The form checks as you go. Each choice is checked with Graber and the form redraws, sometimes adding or removing later rows. Fill it top to bottom and let each field settle.
- Sizes go in as decimal inches. Type 36.5, not "36 1/2". We've seen a fraction typed as text read as the whole number.
- Configuration Alerts tell you what's wrong. A missing control side or an option that doesn't fit the size shows as an alert. Clear every alert before Add to Cart.
- Some add-ons are separate lines. A wood valance or cornice over a cellular or pleated shade is its own product line with its own color, not a field on the shade's form.
- The cart prices every line. Check it against your quote before checkout, and add your sidemark and PO there.
The lesson we took from building this: the order form decides what a product asks for. A quote that uses different option names, merges two of Graber's products into one, or asks questions the form doesn't, has to be translated by someone in the office, and translation is where errors creep in. Quote in Graber's rows and Graber's words, and the order becomes copying, not interpreting.
Common Graber order mistakes
Most remakes and callbacks trace back to a handful of misses:
- Control side or lift not recorded in the home, then guessed at order time.
- Inside mount ordered without checking how the size should be entered. Read the measuring instructions in your price list, which say whether you order the opening and the factory takes the deduction.
- A size just over a limit for the chosen lift, caught only by the portal's alert.
- A valance quoted on the shade but never added as its own line.
- A motor quoted without its power source or remote.
- A color picked from an old swatch book that's since been discontinued.
Each one is cheaper to catch in the house than in the cart.
How HeadRail handles Graber
Graber price books and fabrics are built into HeadRail. During setup we set your price factor and markup; in Admin, Pricing, owners can pick their Graber tier to fill in the factor. Reps see the selling price and its lines, and never your cost or margin.
In the home, the rep measures room by room and the price comes from your Graber books as they type, with upcharges, size limits and billing minimums applied. A size that can't be made is flagged, never priced at zero. Reps can ask Blinds Buddy questions like "What is the widest cordless cellular shade?" and get the answer from your catalog and price books, then double-check anything important in the quote.
When the job is sold, the order is recorded on the won lead, room by room, and you place it in Graber's portal. Elegant is built in as well, and Norman is built (ask us). The owner setup guide shows the price book and pricing screens, and the demo runs on your own Graber products and prices.
If you're comparing software for the whole business, our buyer's checklist has the questions to ask any vendor about price books and ordering.
